Southafrican Flower

Yesterday she was a lion
keeping to herself
only coming home
to feel a bit of love

She felt blue
trying to push away
the imminent darkness

 Her world hated her,
forcing her to go
into a world
all her own

Her mouth was sealed
not daring to open
scared to be abhorrend

Her forest was dark
full of danger
and traps,
who where made
to crush her

She was a vase
who people pushed over
and steped on
till the damage
was unreversable

Today, she found a glue,
who mends her
and secures her

She's gathering up
her pieces
from the floor

She found hope
that the future
will blosom
like a dulcet flower

Tomorrow the world
smiles at her
with the biggest smile
she's ever seen

The flower has survived
the cold winter
and is ready
to step into
summer

  1. I really like this poem, the imagery you used is very imaginative and I like all the comparisons to other things that have similar characteristics (lion, vase). I also really like how you spoke in 3rd person, it makes you view the poem in a new way.
