Sonnet - Shaira Berg

Sonnet

The roses whispered as I walked outside.
The petals curled with a sudden delight.
I walk around simply want to decide,
What makes you so happy without the spite?
The cold autumn air chills me to the bone,
My feet elevate me from ground to sky,
Without you by my side I feel alone,
I breathe very swiftly wanting to cry.
You used to make my whole heart a fight,
And never believed what was really true,
Between what is wrong and what made it right,
And I declare I was falling for you.
I long for your arms to reach out to me,
I long for you to finally see.

  1. I really like the first two lines when you included the flowers because it allows the reader to really become interested in the poem
