Google trip

When we arrived at google we met Mr. Van Winkel who went to the meeting room with us. We all sat round a big table with a lots of food and drinks on it which we were allowed to take. Caroline’s dad held a presentation about his job, what he exactly does, about the data centers all over the world and about Google itself. After the presentation we split up in 3 groups and went on a tour through both buildings. We saw micro-kitchens, a sleeping room if you are jet-lagged, some slides or poles to slide down to another floor. Our leader allowed us to take some food and drinks while walking around. When we got back some asked a question and then we left the building.

 

It was a really good experience. Before we went there I’ve never thought about that all the data is stored in many centers over the entire world. The presentation and the tour were impressive because I had no idea how it might would look like and I definitely never thought that they actually have their home there. They have a Coop to buy things, they have rooms were you can sleep, different restaurants playstation and other fun games.
