1. The punishment for murder should always be death
"Illustration - Vector Illustration of a Man in Jail."
I disagree with this statement because it is wrong to stoop down to the level of the murderer. For example, if someone kills my aunt and they are sentenced with the death penalty, I would be upset. This would be because I believe murderers should rot in a horrible jail and suffer. The murderer could also have killed someone out of self defense.

2. Teenagers can't understand what true love really is.
"Minions ^^."

I agreed with this statement because teenagers have not had enough expereiences to know what true love is. They aren't emotionally prepared for love. How is a teenager supposed to know what love is like if for example that is the first time they've seen someone and they feel something? It could just be lust or a crush. Teenagers can't know what true love is because it is something that takes experience to feel.

3. Killing someone in revenge for killing a close friend of yours is ok.
"What's Bail?"

I disagree with this statement because killing someone who killed a close friend will not satisfy nor placate the pain. Killing them just makes you as bad as they are. If someone killed Renua, Ladina would want them to suffer and remember what they had done forever. I would want them to never forget why they are in such a situation (for example: prison) and regret it for the rest of their lives.

4. Good friends should stick together at all times no matter how wrong a friend may be.
"Monthly Archives: July 2012."

I agree with this idea because being loyal is crucial to a proper friendship in my opinion. If what they are doing is wrong then I would stick with them and try to prevent them from doing something they would regret later. I believe to be a good friend you must support them no matter how much you disagree with what they are doing or what they think. If a friend thought she should dye her hair greenould help her and be there with a second set of dye that is a shade close to her natural hair if she doesn't like it or realises that it doesn't look good.

5. Parents should make the decisions about their children's lives.
 "Audrey Griffin's Blog."

I disagree with this statement to a certain extent. I believe parents have the right to decide where a child lives, how they will be brought up and their rules the child must follow. However I believe if the child is old enough (15 and older) they should be given more responsibility in order to learn how to be responsible and safe instead of babied by their parents.

6. It is possible to fall in love at first sight.
"How to Spot Someone Who Has a Crush on You?"

I disagree with this mostly because love at first sight rarely ever turns out to be real. You do not know the persons personality from looking at them. You could be physically attracted to the person, which is highly possible however, I doubt you can fall in love at first sight with someone because you look at him or her. Love is something felt from knowing a person, you cannot love someone if you do not know them for who they are, what they think.

7. Telling lies or hiding the truth is acceptable for the right reasons.
"Giving a Surprise Party S2E14."

I agree with this statement. You could be hiding something that someone isn't ready to hear and until they are, you lie a little about the situation or topic. For example, my little sister asked me if we were throwing her a birthday party and we were but I lied and said no. I told her we thought she didn't want a party so we didn't plan one. On her birthday the party was a surprise and she was happy because she didn't expect it. Another situation could include a child that you have adopted. You might not want to tell them they're adopted until they turn a certain age or you believe they are ready to know or that they even should know. So instead you lie to them until that moment comes.

8. Family feuds affect only adults.

"Romeo and Juliet Webquest."
I strongly disagree because Romeo and Juliet itself is a perfect example that such a thing doesn't occur. Children and teenagers are more affected because they are brought up to hate another family even though potentially they could get along really well. But they'll never know because the adults are teaching them to hate the other family for no reason that was brought up during their generation other than that the feud is the way it has been for years. In Romeo and Juliet, the family feud stood in the way of two teenagers who believed they were in love. The kids had to sneak around and lie to their families to be with one another because their families couldn't get along.

9. There are times when arranged marriage is appropriate.

I am neutral on this topic because I do not know enough about arranged marriages to have a proper opinion. I think it greatly depends upon the situation and the culture. In India arranged marriages are still common and typically set up to benefit the families so women and men do it. In many cases they do fall in love. However marriage nowadays holds the meaning of symbolizing love and an eternal commitment to one another.

10. Each person has a soul mate.
"The Problem With Dating."

I disagree because I believe each person has more than one soul mate. We are capable of loving more than one person unconditionally. We prove this by going through different partners who we believe are "the one" when in reality they are just someone we are compatible and able to connect with. I do believe there are people who are better suited for you however I think that there is more than one person out there for you.

  2. Your examples are supporting your opinion and give a better understanding, but you don't have an example for each statement. The statements are structured and the images related. Good Job :)
