Romeo and Juliet Opinionnaire

1. The punishment for murder should always be death. I strongly disagree with this statement because in my opinion, being sent to jail for your entire life is a much hasher punishment. When you are sentenced to death you only have a short time to think about your crime while you wait for the court process. However, when you are in the jail for a lifetime, you will always have to think about what you have done and maybe you will even regret it. At the same time the curt can never be one hundred percent certain that the man sentenced for murder is not innocent.

For example there were already people executed and the found innocent years later.
Therefore, the punishment for murder should be a life-sentence.
 

2. Teenagers can’t understand what true love really is. I strongly disagree with this statement because I think they already can understand love when they are teenagers. For example couples which meet in high school or college sometimes stay together their whole lives. If it wouldn’t have been true love, they wouldn’t tray together and marry. That is why i think also Teenagers can feel true love.


3. Killing someone in revenge for killing a close friend of yours is okay. I strongly disagree with this statement because when you kill the person that kills your friend you will ruin your whole life. Instead of getting over the deat of your friend naturally, you would be punished and go to jail. For example if Kim would be Killed by Alex, Caroline can’t kill Alex or she will go to jail and have a ruined life. Therefore, the friend should go to the police and tell them who the murder is, so Alex has to go to jail. Therefore, you should let the police take over it and concentrate on getting back to normal a life again.

 

4. Good friends should always stick together at all time no matter how wrong a friend may be. I agree with that statement because if you are really good friends you should  always forgive them. However, when a friend puts you in danger, you should separate from them. Also if theyx are a bad influence. However, if the friend only makes a mistake you should be able to forgive everything. For example, if the best friend sleeps with your boyfriend, it's okay to be mad at them in the beginning but then you should realize that your friend is sorry and you should forgive them. Therefore, I think you should forgive your friends when they make mistakes, but always know a limit of what is too much.
 

5. Parents should make the decisions for their children. I agree with this statement but only until a certain age. When the children are young perents should make the decisions for them because the children just don’t know it better yet. But when the children have their own opinion parents should also tell them theirs but let the children decide otherwise they will never be independent. For example a child who never made his own decision won’t have an opinion and always will have to ask his parents about what to do when he is 20.  So parents should make the decisions for their children. However when the child is a teenager the parents shoud give them advices to guid them but not more.


6. It is impossible to fall in love at the first sight. I strongly disagree with this statement because in my opinion it is possible because when you see a person the first impression mostly is one of the most important ones. When you see a person and look into their eyes and smell them and hear their voice this all can seem so perfect to you that you suddenly fall in love with that person. For example I once saw a boy and from the first time I saw him he wouldn't go out of my mind. I fell in love on the first sight.



7. Telling lies or hiding the truth is acceptable for the right reasons. I strongly agree with this statement because sometimes it’s better for a person not to know then know. Also sometimes a life is in danger and when you lie to safe that person’s life it’s acceptable. For example in the situation of an amok. If the shooter comes to the room that you are in and ask you where a certain person is, you better lie to him to safe this person’s life then tell him the truth and let him shoot that person. In that case, hiding the the truth is clearly the better decision to make. Therefore, hiding the truth isn't necessarly bad.

8. Family feuds only affect adults. I strongly disagree with this statement because the environment children grow of have a huge influence to their later life. People always fighting are an environment full of violence and this characterizes the children a lot. For example are children from the mafia often actrs violent against others and later also maybe to join the mafia because of his family. Therefore, i think children even are the ones most effected in family feud.

9. There are times when arranged marriage is appropriate. I’m neutral with this statement because marriage should only be a act of love and nothing else. But I can understand if poor people want to arrange a marriage for their daughter to get ther out of poverty. For example a indian girl is nearly starving every day. Then friends from her parents recomend them to marry the girl to their cousin. The cousin isn't rich but has enough money to live well. Therefore, in my opinion you shouldn't asrrange marriages but i can understand when parents arrange one to give their children a better life.


10. Each person has a soul mate. I strongly agree with this statement because I belief in it. Maybe some persons never find their soul mate but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t one. For example Romeo and Juliet are just meant to be together because they are soul mates. Therefore, nobody should give up and keep looking for their soul mate and find the big love.
