Review “I will plant you a lilac tree”

Hannelore was a German girl who lift in the 19th century. She wanted to join her family during the hard time of the jews deportation. Unfortunately it happened that she got passed around from one concentration camp to the other and tried to survive without her Family.Hannelore met a fiew people during these years of fighting against the nazi regime of Germany who gave her the strength to survive. Dick Hilman, a Polish soldier was one of them. Together with Hannelore they are the protagonists of the book. Without the love they shared for each other, they would not have had any chance or reason to fight successfully and survive this awful times. Their family had already been killed, so all they had were eachother. This book is written as a memoir. It is a real story of what happened to Hannelore and her family in the years of the second world war, where most of the jewish population of Germany and Poland was forced to work in concentration camps. But this biography is also a beautiful love story, as Hannelore found the love of her live time in one of these camps. The reason and the story behind the written lines, is to show how life can be like an ocean, Someday life is good and you don’t need to think about any problems. And on other days you encounter really high waves and you need to learn to fight against them no matter how hard it will be and how long it takes.

The book “I will plant you a lilac tree “is from my perspective one of the best books I have ever read. The fact that the book bonds you from the first page to the last is fascinating and likebul. The author tries to take you into the story from the first sentence. While reading it, you are able to draw your selfe a perfect picture of the situation Hannelore must have been in because it is written really clear and detailed. The english level is on a basic form and easy to understand, which gives you even more the time to think exactly how it has to feel living in a terrible situation like that. The book want to show people how it is important to fight in situations where you can`t see any light in the end of the tunnel, this is a connection I saw to my life during reading it, and which is really true and everybody should take in mind. What has me surprised, was that I did not know that a book can be explained so well, that you need to feel with Hannelore how it must have been the years for her, like you were with her all the time. So all in all, the book does not have any negative impacts which we could be talking about and I am sure for every person the theme will have an impact on their lives.

I think every person should ones in her life read a memoir or a story from the times the nazis took over a part of europe, to see that it was even worth then everyone think it was. I read a view books which played in concentration camps but I need to say that I suggest everybody to read this book of a girl from Schindler`s list. It shows you on the best way, how it was and how their conditions were. This is also the reason why I would recommend this book to persons over twelve years old because it was a terrible time and it is a true story, so maybe too upsetting for one or the other. I would also propose to read this book at a quiet place where you are able think a lot. Do not read it before you go to bed because the story is written so interesting that you do not want to stop reading and if you stopped, it is hard to fall directly to sleep because there is so much you are able to think about later on. So, definitely read it but take care when or where.
