Title: I will plant you a lilac tree
By: Laura Hillman
Genre: Non-fiction

The book was written from the main characters perspective and she is also the author of the book. The story is about a Jew girl, Hannelore. It starts in 1919 when Hitler had come to power. The story shows how her father was killed even though he served Germany in the World War. How her family was sent to the camps and was tortured. How author falls in love with a soldier. How he helps the author during difficulties and how they try to escape from the camp. The story showcases the surprising possibilities for hope and love during one of history’s brutal times.
The way it is presented is amazing. It gives us an inspiration of how to overcome difficulties/problems in one’s life. The thing I liked the most was that the author faced all the challenges with great courage. The book is related to history and is a Non-fiction real story. I have studied about Hitler and how he tortured the Jews. So, this how I was connected to the book.  This story is an expression of one of such victim and her life.
This book is really good. It is also nicely written. If someone likes to read about history or how Jews were tortured should read this book. It is a memoir but more than that it is an inspiring and frightening story. Beware, you would not able to keep it aside till you complete in one go.
